The '''RMS Franc Castle''' was a british passenger liner and was the sister ship of the [[HMHS Lanfranc]] and [[User:Wikipedian7878/Ship|RMS Melfranc]] she sadly, also sunk during the end of 1918 after being rammed by a hospital ship in the english channel in a thick fog she sank in 4 hours many got off the ship but she was built with only 6 lifeboats and carried 386 passengers total and there was only enough for 301 of them. Sadly 202 died instead. This occured becuase the ships engine ignited and set off a powerful explosion which shot up a plume of smoke right off the ships funnel and blacked out and killed over 30 people. When it cleared the ships funnel was gone. Only 3 lifeboats were launched that horrible day. The 3 lifeboats had to row their selves to a nearby liner only a mile away when they arrived they quickly lowered them aboard the ship. |
