Not by speeches and votes of the majority, are the great questions of the time decided — that was the error of 1848 and 1849 — but by iron and blood.

My Contributions

Pages I've Started

Overview on Me!

I am a computer techy from central Iowa . I am self employed and fix and build computers (thought I'm primarily a student.) I enjoy tinkering with chemistry in my basement lab. I like math too, but I don't sit around and do those all day, even though there are certain types of math problems where its tempting (I love a challenge.) I am presently in Pre-Calculas. I am interested in Physics too. I am planning on attending Iowa State University's school of engineering and getting a degree in either electrical or chemical engineering, or maybe both. I also like to participate in Knowledgebowl as well as MathCounts at my school, (Des Moines Christian.) I currently use a TI-83 Plus graphing calculator, but as soon as I can replace it, I'm going to get a TI-Nspire.

My Political Views

With great reluctance, I am Republican. However, I find most of the 2008 candidates sickening, with the exception of Huckabee and Paul. Mitt Romney is the biggest lier I think I've ever heard, between him and Hillary Clinton, I think you could have a contest for best anti-christ. I suppose I am ok with Mr. Bush. But we didn't kick enough butt while we had the congressional backing. Anyway, for the most part, I whish the Republicans would revert to a more conservative platform. I am extremely anti-evolutionist. I am also against gay rights or gay marriage. I am also of the opinion that 'hate-speech' is stupid, in other words, you tell me what you think of me, and I'll tell you exactly what I think of you. I am against abortion. 'Planned Paranthood' is a stupid name. It should be 'Planned Genocide.' I am an extreme anti-feminist. I don't think women should be able to run for political offices.

Microsoft v. Apple

I'll take Microsoft any day. I am hugely anti-Mac and pro-Microsoft. In my opinion Mac's are overpriced PC's with funny cases and a proprietary operating system with AWEFULL memory management. I use Internet Explorer 7 full time, and am pleased with Microsoft Office 2007. I also think that product activation is of the devil. All this said, I do have one herecy, I use iTunes. Yes, its true, WMP its self does rock, but the stores suck, and I can't put DRM music not bought on iTunes Store on my iPod. Plus, I do like coverflow.

iPod v. Zune

Of course, I prefer the Zune. However, like they say, beggars cant be choosers. I have 30GB iPod 5.5 generation. The one thing I like about the iPod over the Zune, is its awesome headphones.

AMD v. Intel

I am an Intel fan. Though my primary machine is an AMD, beggars cant be choosers, and it was free, so I can't complain (heck anyone with a free dual core laptop with 2gb of RAM is pretty nice!) I think Intel processor have way more power than there AMD counterparts.

nVIDIA v. ATI

GO nVIDIA! Yeah, the GTS 8800 kicks total butt, and SLI kicks CrossFire butt (CrossFire was a total failure!)

ATSC v. DVB

I live in the good ol' U. S. of A., so of course I support ATSC (the HD successor to NTSC) over DVB (the HD successor to PAL.

HD DVD v. Blu-Ray

I am for HD DVD all the way! The main reason is that it's Microsoft backed. But it's also because Blu-Ray is backed by Sony, and I neither trust Sony nor do I car for there stupid proprietary computers.

TV Shows and Movies

I don't watch much television. If I do, its probably to watch the 'Britcom's' and Saturday Night Sci-Fi on IPTV. I do watch a lot of Monk, A-Team, and MacGyver on my iPod. I also love to several British television shows (especially the Britcoms and the old Dr. WHO) , and I wish that the BBC would make some attempt to merge with PBS so that they can offer their programming free of charge in the US. I love Dr, WHO. One thing that really bugs me is I wish that they would put at least the new Dr. WHO's on IPTV's high definition channel instead of there confounded old analog channel. My favorite Doctor is probably either Jon Pertwee or Tom Baker. The new searies displease me. They are considerably more trashy, though I do like the added special effects I suppose. I find the constant swearing and use of the Lord's name in vein abbhorant. Also, they got rid of the magic that kept the old series going for 30 or whatever years. The old ones may have had cheasy visuals, but almost always a great story and a clean plot. The new series, thats another story, theyre pretty much the opposite, a bad plot and stunning visuals. A plot can makeup for anything, radio books are even good without any video if they have a good plot, but visuals on the other hand, can only go so far. On a similar note, I think the 1996 movie stank too. It carried the same problem as the new ones. Other British shows I watch include Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Mr. Bean, Keeping Up Appearances, Red Dwarf, Sorry!, and numerous others I can't presently remember. I also thought the Johnny English movie and Mr. Bean's Holiday movie where both absolutely hillarious. As far as American comedy goes, I love The Three Stooges and The Marx Brother's. I also love Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K). My favorite MST3K episodes are probably "What to do on a Date" and "Prince of Space" (the little shorts are usually my favorites.) I also like the american TV series Monk (I'm so mad at NBC for breiking off their contract with Apple because now I can't watch Monk legally anymore (I am forced to Bittorrent them!
