Lopunny (ミミロップ, Mimiroppu, Mimilop in original Japanese language versions) are one of the Template:Pokenum fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of Lopunny in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]

Its English name Lopunny is a portmanteau of the words lop, referring to its droopy ears or agile movement, and bunny, the animal it is based on. The punny part of it's name may be brought from punch, referring to its various punching attacks. Its name may derive from the Japanese word for ear (, mimi) and the English word lop, referring to the lop rabbit breeds.

Biological characteristics

Lopunny is a bipedal rabbit. Evolved form of Buneary. It has huge, fluffy, ears that dangle loosely from its head. It also has two tan projections from its head that look like antennae, possibly over-sized eyebrows, or tufts of fur. Its body is dark brown and has accentuated feminine curves. Its ears are also brown tipped with tan. It has tan fur around its wrists and pointy looking feet (compare to Roselia, Delcatty, and Kirlia). This Pokemon tends to be rather shy and often hides its face behind its large fluffy ears.

A video of Pokémon Battle Revolution shows Lopunny attacking with Dizzy Punch.

In the video games

Lopunny can learn a variety of attacks, including a few Fighting attacks such as Jump Kick by leveling up, Sky Uppercut through breeding, and Drain Punch through TM. It can also learn Fire Punch, Ice Punch, and Thunder Punch through breeding. It is also the only Pokémon that can learn the move Return by leveling up. Its stats show that it is quite usable with its average Attack stat, above-average defenses, and great Speed, making Lopunny a good defensive Pokémon with a decent ability to attack. With so many different moves in Lopunny's movepool, it can be quite unpredictable. Also, if possessing the moves such as Agility or Attract, and Baton Pass, Lopunny can turn itself to a supportive Pokémon towards the other. It can have one of two abilities: Cute Charm, which can infatuate an attacker; and Klutz, which prevents Lopunny's hold item from affecting it, both positively and negatively (I.E.; Choice Band doesn't strengthen its physical attacks, but also doesn't limit it to one move).
