Shelly Oria is an Israeli-American author, teacher and creative coach.[1] Oria has written collections of short stories and other fiction. Her work has been featured in several publications like The Paris Review and McSweeney's.[2] Her collection of short stories New York 1, Tel Aviv 0 was her first published in book form. Oria received a MFA from Sarah Lawrence College in 2007.[11] She learned to write in Hebrew at the college in 2006.[12] Oria studied how to be a life and creative coach while in Israel between 2008-2009 in the Alder Institute and with Julia Cameron in 2004.[13]

Current life

Oria lives in Brooklyn, New York[14] and has several projects. She curates the Sweet! Actors Reading Writers website. The website is on a break until June 2015.[15] She works at the Pratt Institute as a fiction teacher and a co-director for the Writer's Forum.[16] Oria also serves as a life and creative coach with a private practice.[17] She has had the private practice since 2009.[18]
