At least I am not dumb!
Cian, at least I am not dumb like that republican suhuman User:Lholden. Republicanism has caused far too much suffering in this world. New Zealand will be better off once the hated New Zealand Parliament's racialist pirate state is done away with & the monarchy restored to its rightful place. I am a very fierce advocate of restoring the right to appeal to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in London,England, plus I am an advocate of restoring the British honours system, including knighthoods & hereditary peerages to New Zealand.

By the way, I am now also supporting the Irish Unionist Party, whose website can be found here; http://www.miumu.com/phpbb/index.php?mforum=iup. Eventually the Romish rebel pirate state that is the Republic of Ireland will be overthrown. The sooner that it is reincorporated back into the United Kingdom, the better! - (192.190.108.19 05:53, 2 May 2006 (UTC))

Page nuked on reaching 33KB, one of the browsers I use still barfs on pages this large. Its in the History still... --Kiand 18:44, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Nuke again at 38KB, its all in the history. Archives make the user space messy, these discussions are all dead. --Kiand 00:07, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A Protestant Plot!

Did you know:

(for generations, Irish-Americans forbade their children to learn to read because they feared that it was a
Protestant plot) [2]

Remember when . . .

Remember our old friend Andrew Lin? Can you believe that he's [still around? He instant messaged me last week (no, i don't know him, don't worry), which made me suspicious that he's still editing, and a quick look confirmed that he was. Unbelievable. - Jersyko talk 05:20, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

re: DBS

Well, I am using the term DBS in Big ugly dish, becuase Ku-band is a pretty broad term. Ku-band can also refer to it's FSS variant, as in satellites which use Ku-band transponders with linear polarization (as opposed to DBS-type satellites using a different segment of the Ku band (the one officially designated DBS by the '77 ITU plan) which use circular polarization), and at a lower power output as well.

And FSS is not an outdated term (from reading your comments on the edit history of Big ugly dish), it's still used to describe said lower-powered linear-polarized satellites that predate DBS (or whatever you want to call it), as far as I know. Yes, DBS, in it's most technical definition, is simply the ITU's name for the allocation of frequencies assigned for direct-to-home-style sat broadcasting in Ku, but what else is there to call the satellites that run DirecTV/Dish Network/Sky TV/ExpressVu and others around the world? They are quite different than the, dare I say, FSS variety... (different power output, and a different flavor of RF polarization...) From what I've seen, most other folks call these higher-power, circular-polarized sats DBS, and the lower-powered linear-polarized ones TVRO (or BUD or FSS) sats...

PS--Pardon me if it seems like I've been changing your edits (and you changing mine) back and forth, I didn't realize this until I took a look at the edit history of the article... misternuvistor 08:55, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ahhh, I did not know that "DBS" services in Europe utilized linear polarization, I stand quite corrected. In all my ignorance, I did not realize the satellite situation in the fringe of the Western and all of the Eastern hemisphere was quite different in it's implementation. Forgive me for being the typical ignorant American, also considering my use of such USA-centric terms as FSS/TVRO/and DBS (in its North American definition).
I thought services marketed as "DBS" in the US and worldwide used circular polarization, in order to provide more reliability in reception (circular polarization does offer more resistance to rain fade, which the X & Ku bands are quite susceptible to), to make it more marketable as a consumer-oriented service, which most "DBS" systems (free-to-air, or pay-based) are. I assume most satellite TV in Europe uses linear polarization (whether it be a high or low power sat) due to legacy, considering the European continent has been involved in Ku-band direct-to-home satellite TV longer than the US, no?
BTW-if I read you correctly, you were able to pick up American DirecTV in your locale of Ireland? I'm assuming it must of been on the very outer fringe of DirecTV 1's footprint (DirecTv 1 being at 72.5° W, the closest DirecTv sat to where you are, IIRC), or there must of been some very crazy Sporadic E going on... ;)

Thanks for your edit on this, I didn't know! Notjim 15:08, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ultrabeat

I'm all for swapping the pages around (since the UK Ultrabeat was what I was searching for originally!), but I'm unsure personally of how best to accomplish the move (being new to Wikipedia) - is this something that should be requested at Requested Moves or not? Richsage 18:56, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done as per your suggestion - I've moved the Swedish Ultrabeat to Ultrabeat (Swedish Band) and set the original Ultrabeat to redirect to the UK page. Thanks for your help! Richsage 20:49, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

whackjobs

G'day Kiand,

please refrain from calling fellow editors — however whacky — "whackjobs". You never know, one day one of them won't be a vandal. And then there will be much complaining. And nobody likes complaining. So, don't. Thanks, fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 16:10, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate that. I just mean that it's important not to actually say "whackjob", in case you're wrong. 'Cos one day you just might be. Also, we have that whole WP:CIVIL, WP:NPA, and WP:AGF stuff. Cheers, fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 12:07, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Subst

Hi, Kiand. While sending a "you've been blocked" message, I changed your test warnings to on Danielle's Largesse's talk page[3]. It expands into exactly the same message, but if the template is vandalized, the original message remains on the person's talk page. Also, and perhaps more importantly, it reduces load on the server. For further information, please see Wikipedia:Template substitution. Cheers. AnnH (talk) 00:55, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was indeed an error on my part

The article you have just reverted was indeed an error on my part-I completely confused myself, and reverted a load of pages which I didn't mean to, and am now going round reverting my reverts. Sorry and thanks, John 17:43, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

KeyFly

You tagged this article as a potential copyvio; the uploader has contacted us via OTRS and has satisfied me that he is indeed probably authorised to post the text, so I have restored it (and added a clean-up tag, as it is as you spotted a copy-and-paste of some PR copy).

Keep up the good work, though. :-)

List of Irish television channels

Just to let you know, I was actually about to fix the location of Channel 6. I didn't read the section names properly (stupid, I know), but if you look at the edit history, you'll notice I had them removed before your edit (just not replaced, well actually the City Channel doesn't need to be). Just thought I'd let you know :) - RHeodt 20:14, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

?

Just out of curiosity, why did you protect your page?

To prevent a certain idiot and his army of sockpuppets from having easy access to it. --Kiand 19:31, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tawkerbot2

Thank you for bringing that bug to my attention. It should hopefully be fixed now. joshbuddytalk 19:47, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

fecking bot, come on, no personal attacks, bots have feelings too :) -- Tawker 07:40, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Sorry to bother you, but I'm having some trouble on the Punk'd article. An unregistered user named BigBang19 keeps re-inserting material into the article that is irrelevant, poorly worded, etc. I've tried posting a message on that article's Talk Page, but he has not responded. Because he had no User Page, my message to him was the first one on it. If you could check out the bottommost section on the Talk Page and chime in with your two cents on his revisions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Nightscream 05:57, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Romish rebel pirate state

Cian, what ever you say,it doesn't change the fact that you & User:Jtdirl are from the Romish rebel pirate state that is the Republic of Ireland. Did you know that your hero, Pope Benedict XVI of Rome is a Nazi scumbag who supports the subhumans from Sinn Féin/I.R.A.. No wonder that pointed-hatted gorilla is bound for the Lake of Fire in Hell,so there! - (192.190.108.19 06:31, 24 April 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Nor does anything change the fact that you're completely barking mad. Or banned, Aidan. Oh, and I'm not a Catholic, nor have I ever been one, so rant and rave all you want, I really don't care. --Kiand 07:19, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It also still doesn't change the fact that you, User:Jtdirl & User:Hu are idiots who have been promoting your own selfish POV agendas for a very long time. No wonder why Scots & Irish people don't particularly like each other anyway,so there! - (192.190.108.19 08:09, 24 April 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Aidan, if anyone has a "selfish POV agenda", its you. You're the one who's banned, remember. And I can't see the relevance of your last statement, whatsoever. Oh, and can we get on to the subject of hypocricy, please? You said you'd not 'come back' until someone was banned - who hasn't been banned and is unlikely to ever be, in fact. And yet you're editing again... --Kiand 08:15, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is 'hypocrisy'.No wonder why you are so dumb anyway,as you obviously can't spell. - (202.20.3.101 10:39, 24 April 2006 (UTC))[reply]

So says the man who doesn't know that you put a space after a full stop or comma. Do they not teach basic English punctuation in bigot school? --Kiand 11:09, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cian,it is so unfortunate that you were taught a lot of bile & vitriol at school about British people, given the fact that you, like most Irish people, are extremely gullible. You should take a look at Coins of Fiji & fix it up,that is,if you're not too stupid to notice! Those IP addresses that were blocked, they just happened to be the addresses of public computers - one in an Internet cafe, & the other one is located in the public library here in Wellington, New Zealand. As seen as you had the cheek to express your usual racist bile, that goes to show that you are not a Prod like me, but a Taig subhuman like Gerry Adams,Robert Mugabe,& Martin McGuinness. - (210.55.131.172 03:20, 28 April 2006 (UTC))[reply]

If anyone was taught "bile" and "vitriol" at school here, it was you. Once again, I'm not a Catholic but I like the way your extremely narrow mind assumed this would leave Protestantism as the only other choice. There are other religious belief systems beyond the one you subscribe to and the one you appear to depise with all you can muster. Including "none".
I find it interesting that you've requested me to fix up an article which you wrote and which my interest in the subject of registers as nil. I also find it interesting that you continue to insult my country, the religion you (incorrectly) assume I have, and my intelligence, none of which you have any legitimate basis to do so, and yet you wonder why you're banned. This brings us right back to the reason you're banned - well, one of them. Personal attacks. They are not allowed and not tolerated.
Theres a space after punctuation marks, by the way. And the Wikipedia automatically handles line breaks, you don't need to add them.
As goes blocking of public computer IP adresses - if all they have contributed is vandalism - which editing under a ban is classified as - they can be blocking. It doesn't prevent people from reading the Wikipedia.
There is also the topic of pushing a specific POV to deal with - which is another reason why you're banned. Lines like "taig subhuman" are entirely your POV, and indeed that of very few others.
I'm also still intrigued as to why someone who hasn't been to Ireland - indeed, have you even been to Europe? - is so utterly obsessed with a political and religious strife in which few if any people in either the UK or Ireland has any interest anymore.
If you're going to contine coming on here to bother me and edit under a ban, the owners of some of the "public computers" you're using may end up getting contacted. Otherwise, I suggest you just realise that you're not wanted here - indeed, a total lack of protests at your banning was quite notable - and that just not editing, or commenting in any way is probably the best thing you can do. There are other forums where you can engage in personal attacks and pushing of your POV, should you so wish. --Kiand 16:32, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
