Paul Neefs (July 4, 1933 - May 7, 2009) was a Belgian architect and designer of wall objects and free-standing objects.


In 2007, the house he designed for himself in Oud-Turnhout, Belgium in 1965 was provisionally protected,[1] along with those of several other Belgian architects.



July 4, 1933: born in Turnhout, Belgium

1951: graduates in Classical Studies (Latin and Greek, St. Joseph College, Turnhout

1951-1956: completes his studies in Architecture, Hoger Architectuur Instituut St. Lucas, Ghent

1957: starts his internship in architecture with Engineer Durin in Ghent

1958: establishes himself as an independent architect

1958-1967: performs multiple international trips related to architecture (visiting Scotland, England, Italy, Greece, the United States, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, France, the Netherlands)

1968: meets and marries Therese Proost

1969-1975: Luc, Astrid, Barbara, Paul and Thomas are born

1982: exposition in Gallery Bozar, Antwerp, of wall objects, drawings and serial objects

1984: puts an end to his career as an independent architect

1986: exhibition of his architectural oeuvre at the House of Architects, Antwerp

1992: docent at the Institute of Architecture St. Lucas, Ghent

1992: exhibition on his architectural oeuvre at the Art Gallery Le Faux Miroir, Brussels

1993: exposition in Gallery Buytaert, Antwerp, of wall objects and drawings

1993: exposition in de Warande, Turnhout, of wall objects and free standing objects

1994: exposition in Gallery Buytaert, Antwerp, of wall objects and drawings
