And as to why it is or isn't useless, take it up with people who can explain it better than I can. All I am saying is that as long as wiki has a policy of orphans being tagged, and articles appear on the list of articles that need them, then they will be tagged whether I tag them or not. If you don't like the policy, then take it up with the appropriate person/people. If you don't want your articles to be tagged as orphans, then do what you need to do in order to make sure they don't deserve the tag - that is, make sure they aren't orphans. ::I might not be popular for saying this, but I somewhat agree with Postcard Cathy (although both of you need to stop reverting one another...it looks like that has already stopped, though, fortunately). Right now WP guidelines are that articles should categorized, have incoming and outgoing links, etc. when possible. That guideline may well be bad, but if you think it should be changed the best thing to do is to start a centralized discussion ([[Template talk:Orphan]], [[WT:Orphan]], or [[WT:Orphanage]]) about whether or not the guideline should be changed, or whether some articles should be exempt from being templated (ie, one possible solution would be that articles that could feasibly be de-orphaned can be templated so that people will do the cleanup, whereas articles that are obscure or simply never will be orphaned could have the template removed, since there is no cleanup to ask for and we don't need to 'warn' the readers about content problems like we do with {{tlf|unreferenced}}, {{tlf|pov}}, etc.). Since a decision like this would affect many articles, it should be made through a centralized discussion rather than an argument at any particular article. The reason I left those players hidden, is that most CFL teams "release" players on paper. Bergquist and Wasilea (sp?) will continue practicing with the Riders and will either end up on the active roster or on the Developmental Squad again. ::Yeah its a strange quirk of the CFL, where roster rules are skirted this way. I'd bet if you went to any CFL team's practice (which are all open to the public by the way) you'd probably find 3 or 4 players that are there that aren't listed on any official website. In previous years, I've shown these players on the Developmental Squad, but since the CFL seems to have rules regarding the DS, I'm not sure where to put them. However, I guess the reports of these players practicing, do not come from good sources even if they are eye-witness reports. There are some very loyal practice watchers that post at Riderfans.com that tend to keep us Rider fans abreast of these types of things. I mean some of them have contacts at the airport who find out about certain players being in town and whatnot. It borders on stalker behaviour at times. I tend to stick to the Riders' fan board, but I'd bet that all the teams' fan boards have reports like this. Any team can sign another team's practice squad player so long as they are actually signing him to play in the next game. And I stick by my original action of removing Bergquist and Wasiela because even though they might be practicing with the team, many free agents do so keeping them listed just because they ''were'' on the pr, doesn't make sense. In the past, I have always used the CFL's transactions in addition to the eyewitness of players still on the team. But if official documentation is how were are operating this year, what is the rule, which is considered official?
