Heseri (Chinese: 赫舍里 ;Pinyin: Hesheli;Manchu:Hosholi), came from Jianzhou Jurchens,was one of the most important and powerful Manchu clans during the Qing Dynasty in China.

Heseri, was an old Jurchen clan ( Jurchen is the early Muchu people), the origin can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty( AD 618–907)of China.The name, Heseri, is said from a name of a river. Kangxi Emperor's Empress Xiaocheng came from this clan. She was therefore known as "Empress Heseri". Her grandfather, Sonin,also known as Souni, was one of the four regents to support the young Kangxi Emperor.

In the late 1800s, people from this clan changed their surname to He (Chinese: 赫/何) for short.

In Jin Dynasty, at least 52[1] people from this clan were powerful enough to affect the government's decisions. Their names were recorded in the Histroy of Jin Dynasty

In Qing Dynasty

  • Heseri Shuose(Chinese:硕色),[2] Sonin's father. Fluent in Madarin,Mongolian and Manchu. Awarded 'Bakeshi(Chinese 巴克什)' by Qing Dynasty's founding father,Nurhaci. Bakeshi means 'Knowledgeable Man' in Manchu
  • Heseri Xifu(Chinese: 希福; ?-1662),Shuose's brother.He had the same language skill as his elder brother. Also awarded 'Bakeshi'
  • Heseri Sonin(Chinese:索尼; ?-1667),Grand Councillor, top of the four regents, chief minister of Emperor Shunzhi. Confered Marquess in his life time and Duke after he dead.
  • Heseri Songgotu(Chinese: 索额图; ?-1703), second son of Sonin ( some say the third), Grand Councillor, Chief Minister of Emperor Kangxi.
  • Heseri Gebula(Chinese:噶布喇), first son of Sonin, inherited his father's title of Duke. Minister of Emperor Kangxi
  • Empress Xiaocheng(1653~1674)
  • Heseri Dingshou (Chinese:定寿;?-1731), One of the greatest military generals of early Qing Dynasty. Vice Governor of the Mongolian Plain Yellow Banner
