History
The NOP was founded in 1981 . The NOP claims to be the reincarnation of National Radical Camp, the pre-war nationalist youth organisation, which was banned in 1934. NOP publishes magazine Szczerbiec (the name of the Polish royal coronation sword), which lists neofascists Derek Holland and Roberto Fiore among the members of its editorial board, Młodzież Narodowa (National Youth), Myśl (The Thought), and Biuletyn NOP. The publishing house was closed after 1989 and the collapse of the Communist regime. During the Communist era, NOP militants took part in protests and student strikes against communistic regime in Poland. In 1992, the NOP registered as a political party.

In the 2005 Polish parliamentary elections, it received 7,376 votes out of 11,804,676 votes that were cast (0.06% of the vote) In the 2006 self-government regional elections, received 41,652 votes in 41 of 88 districts that were cast (0,64% globally but 1,3% per district). In the 2007 Polish parliamentary elections, it received 42,407 votes in 4 of 31 districts.
In 2001 NOP membership in Poland was estimated at 500, consisting mainly of neo-Nazi skinheads.
Starting as a nationalist youth discussion forum on 10 November, 1981, it became a well-regulated national-revolutionary movement with a distinct ideology in 1983. In November 1983, they started publishing Jestem Polakiem (I am a Pole) - the first, and for a long time the sole, nationalist underground magazine in Poland. In 1985, NOP founded the underground publishing house Jestem Polakiem, which published more than 100 books, brochures and magazines; such as Szczerbiec (the name of Polish royal coronation sword), Młodzież Narodowa (National Youth), Myśl (The Thought), and Biuletyn NOP. The publishing house was closed after 1989 and the collapse of the Communist regime. During the Communist era, NOP militants took part in protests and student strikes against communistic regime in Poland.

Since 1992 NOP become political party.
In 2001 NOP tried to enter parliamentary politics for the first time. Newly created NOP front organization the New Forces Alliance (Sojusz Nowych Sil) joined nationalist electoral bloc Alternative Social Movement (Ruch Spoleczny Alternatywa, RSA). Among the NOP candidates were Marcin Radzewicz, the leader of openly neo-Nazi National Socialist Front (Front Narodowo-Socjalistyczny). RSA gained just below 0.5% of the votes and the alliance was dissolved.

Narodowe Odrodzenie Polski (NOP) (National Rebirth of Poland) is a far-right[1] Third positionist, nationalist, political party in Poland. It is a member of European National Front and a co-founder of International Third Position.

History

It was founded in 1981 at an illegal anti-communist nationalist youth's discussion forum. In 1992, it registered as a political party. In the 2005 Polish parliamentary elections, it received 7,376 votes out of 11,804,676 votes that were cast (0.06% of the vote)[2]. In the 2006 self-government regional elections, NOP received 41,652 votes in 41 of 88 districts that were cast (0,64% globally but 1,3% per district). In the 2007 Polish parliamentary elections, it received 42,407 votes in 4 of 31 districts, that gives 10 000 votes per district and potentially about 300 000 votes globally. [3][4]. In November 1983, they started publishing Jestem Polakiem (I am a Pole) - the first, and for a long time the sole, nationalist underground magazine in Poland. The publishing house was closed after 1989 and the collapse of the Communist regime. During the Communist era, NOP militants took part in protests and student strikes against communistic regime in Poland.

Views

The manifesto of the National Revival of Poland contains a sentence stating that "Jews will be removed from Poland, and their possessions will be confiscated," taken directly from Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf.[5] The official greeting gesture used in the party is the Nazi-like gesture of the raised arm.[5]

In March 2000, in Lodz, Swastikas and the slogan "Jews out!" was spraypainted on the home of Marek Edelman, who was the deputy commander in the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and the last of the leaders of the uprising still alive. It turned out that swastika and sentence was sprayed by journalist of Gazeta Wyborcza.

In 2006, NOP was involved in campaigning to free convicted British historian David Irving from prison in Austria, and produced a poster that states, "David Irving - Uwolnić prawdę" ("David Irving - Free the truth")[6].

The party expressed support for the bombing of Israel at the time of the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict, with a poster image stating, "Bomby na Izrael - Już czas!!!" ("Bombs against Israel - it's about time!!!")[7]. On August 13, 2006, NOP leader Adam Gmurczyk published a declaration on behalf of the NOP Executive Council titled Izrael musi zostać zniszczony! (Israel must be destroyed!) referring to "judaistycznej zaciekłości i nienawiści" ("Jewish loathing and hatred"), calling for the introduction of an international military force on Jewish territory as well as taking over entire control of Israel, and stating that an important action will be to free Jerusalem and make it a free city. Administrative control should be placed in the hands of the universally respected head of the Catholic Church Pope Benedict XVI, and his successors[8].

The movement conducted a campaign called Zakaz Pedałowania (Forbid Homosexuality)[9] as a reaction to the homosexual movement's activities in Poland.

NOP started (as first in Poland) spreading pre-Second Vatican Council teaching of the Catholic Church. "Szczerbiec" published lot of traditional Catholic articles and NOP supported in 90`s Society of St. Pius X in Poland.

Big influence on NOPs views have G. K. Chesterton, Thomas Aquinas, few Popes - mainly Pope Pius V, Pope Leo XIII, Pope Pius X, and Polish philosophers or politicians like Feliks Koneczny, Roman Dmowski and a lot of the others...

Criticism and doubts

The Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish civil rights advocacy group, claims that the NOP is as an extremist organization, although no one proofed it and NOP never losed trail in court. [10]
