Lachlan (/ˈlæklən/ or /ˈlɒklən/)[1] is a masculine given name in the English language. The name is derived from the Gaelic Lachlann, which is in turn derived from the earlier Gaelic Lochlann. The name is said to refer to a migrant from Norway, "the land of the lochs". Pet forms of Lachlan include Lachie, Lachy and Lockie. A feminine form of the name is Lachina (in Scotland).[2]
