Latin American music task force invite

edit

Hello El Mexicano! I've noticed your hard work on articles relating to Latin American music such as those you did to articles related to Thalia. I would like to invite you to join the Latin music task force a collaborative effort which aims to create, expand, and maintain Latin American-related articles. If you'd like to join, please sign up here. Magiciandude 14:03, 8 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your interest, I'm sure you'll be a big help to the task force. I agree with your stance with capitalization of Spanish titles. I, myself, happened to be fault of using capitalization of Spanish words on article titles, so I'll put this policy into the task force and see if I can bring it up on the Music policy. Thanks again! Magiciandude (talk) 21:03, 8 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
This is what I found about different languages for capitalization. If someone reverts your edit for capitalization, refer to them that policy. I've updated the "Tips" guide on the taskforce. Magiciandude (talk) 21:17, 8 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I've added your name to the list if that's alright with you. Once again, ¡Bienvenidos! Magiciandude (talk) 21:27, 8 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

El Mexicano I have a question. Do you anything about the capitalization of albums and songs if it uses both Spanish and English? Por ejemplo, El Cartel: The Big Boss y Desde un Principio: From the Beginning. I also saw an album called "En Vivo... Puro Party Live" under Grammy Award for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album, so I don't know how it would be written. Thanks! Magiciandude (talk) 05:26, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I need your input here. I've think I went too far with my edits, so it's caused quite a commotion. Magiciandude (talk) 18:53, 13 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Please contribute to the discussion which is now based here. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:12, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your note, but you still don't seem to be understanding that this is English Wikipedia and we go for words that can be verified, not words that are theoretically academically correct. Please join the discussion I linked to above if you wish to keep advocating your opinion. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:22, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Different Language Translations

edit

El Mexicano, regardless of what happens in the current discussions, there is a favor would I like to ask of you. Could translate the articles under the Featured/Good content on the Latin music into Spanish (and I guess Hungarian right?) for those Wikipedia languages? You can find them here. In fact, it could help get GA/FA on those following languages as well. Of course, if that is too much to ask, then I understand. Magiciandude (talk) 04:49, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I understand, it could be quite time consuming. Maybe we could do a collab for an article related to Thalia (once I'm finished with some work)? Magiciandude (talk) 13:53, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Qué será de ti (Como vai você)

edit

Why is "Como" capitalised (if you follow ALBUMCAPS)? Just curious, I thought it meant "what" or similar in Spanish so shouldn't be capitalised, right? And the infobox needs fixing too. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:14, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Infobox fixed and some information (translations) added. Thanks! --El Mexicano (talk) 18:38, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Is it Primera Fila or Primera fila? The Rambling Man (talk) 18:39, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Infobox is wrong then. Also, "CD Single" should be "CD single" and ".... , Digital download" should be ".... , digital download", "Acoustic Music" should be "Acoustic music" and "Latin Pop" should be "Latin pop". If you're going to fix one, then I suggest you fix 'em all!! The Rambling Man (talk) 18:45, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yes, these are not proper nouns so don't take capital letters unless they start a sentence. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:48, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
No, the discussion is far from resolved. There's no agreement that ALBUMCAPS is correct. The discussion is ongoing, and in fact, ALBUMCAPS has been edited since to remove that requirement. I would suggest you cease to make these kind of edits until a genuine consensus is formed. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:56, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
