People are known for being professors. An encyclopedia article should focus on the sum total of someone's life, it is not an obituary. We do not focus on their status at death, but on what makes them notable, and that is being a professor, not getting emeritus status.John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:29, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
