Summary

Description Aerial view of the sunken Japanese submarine tender Jingei. On 19 September 1944, she had been was torpedoed 80 miles northwest of Naha by the submarine USS Scabbardfish (SS-397) and was towed to Okinawa and beached northwest of Naha. On 10 October 1944, the immobile ship was attacked by U.S. Navy aircraft of Task Force 38 launched from the aircraft carrier USS Hancock (CV-19) and sank in shallow waters.
