| Description |
English: Modern way of producing birch bark tar in a single pot: The birch bark is heated unter airtight conditions, the final product consists of tar and the ashes of the bark. The hole in the can should be stoppered (e.g. by a thin sharpened stick) as soon as the can is withdrawn from the heat source and allowed to cool. In this way, oxidation of the tar is prevented.
