My name is Chad Stephen Wrye. For more up-to-date information about me, you can read my blog.
I was born in Macon, Georgia, on 1978-11-29. I grew up there and attended Gilead Christian Academy from kindergarten through 12th grade. After graduating, I went to Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, in August 1996. I graduated in May 2000 with a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree and a triple major in Business Administration, Accounting, and Computer Information Systems. I spent three years working as a computer programmer at Compco, a small telecommunications company in Brentwood, Tennessee, before deciding to go back for a Master's degree in August 2003. I attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and I will receive a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in August 2005.
I am a believer in Christianity and have been all my life. I grew up in an independent fundamental Baptist church, but I am now a member of the Church of the Nazarene. My theological views are now based on Wesleyanism and Arminianism. However, I enjoy learning about various types of Christian theology and about all types of world religions.
My main hobby is swing dancing, which I do quite often. My primary interest is lindy hop, although I also do quite a bit of balboa, east coast swing, blues, charleston, and collegiate shag. I received most of my training from Music City Motion, although I have taken classes from many well-known instructors, including Frankie Manning. I am familiar with several other types of dances including some ballroom dancing, but I do not do them nearly as often.
I am an Internet junkie and an information addict. Besides Wikipedia, I also regularly check out the Urban Legends Reference Pages and The Straight Dope. I am a regular poster on several message boards, including The Pizza Parlor, Yehoodi, and the Urban Legends Message Board. On a lesser basis, I check out Christian Forums, the Atlanta Swing Dance Forum, and Dance Forums. I also have my own blog on Xanga, and I update it at least once a week. I typically use the screennames Crono or Crono09 (for non-dance sites) and Hipster (for dance-related sites).
Video games used to be another major interest of mine, although that has lessened due to a lack of time. My preferred types of games are role-playing games, adventure games, and strategy games, although I tend to enjoy games in all categories. My favorite game franchises are Final Fantasy, Myst, Metroid, and all of the Blizzard games. For the most part, I only play PC games now.
I joined Wikipedia on 2005-06-02, although I had been reading it for months before then. I will most likely be involved in editing articles related to the material listed above. In addition, I am quite detailed when it comes to grammar and formatting, so I will also be correcting any such errors that I see.
