Line 129:
The Express Pass, introduced in season 17, is given as a prize on the first leg which allows the team to skip any task (including Roadblocks, Detours, and miscellaneous tasks, but not the Fast Forward task), once, during the race. If a team used the Express Pass to skip a Detour and that team is U-Turned, the U-Turn is void. The choice of which task to skip is at the team's discretion, but the power, if unused, expires at the end of Leg 8. The Express pass has since appeared in the Latin American edition as the Pase Directo (following the change production companies in season three) and in the Norwegian version as the Fripass.

Since its introduction in the United States edition, teams that have won it on the first leg have gone on to win the race 50% of the time. Moreover, all of those teams made it to the final leg of the race.
