Center for Asian Health Research and Education (CARE)

The Center for Asian Health Research and Education (CARE) seeks to improve the health of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (AsA-NHPI) by increasing knowledge, empowering education, and positively impacting their clinical care.

Center for Digital Health (CDH)

In partnership with Silicon Valley innovators as well as colleagues throughout the university and across fields of engineering, computer science, medicine, business, and the humanities the Center for Digital Health develops tools and approaches that improve health not only for Stanford patients but for all people worldwide. They prioritize underlying core values of ethics, inclusion, and accessibility, bringing together a global perspective and a rigorous scientific approach.

Clinical Excellence Research Center (CERC)

The Clinical Excellence Research Center (CERC) is the first university-based center in the United States whose research and education programs are exclusively dedicated to rapidly advancing cost-saving innovations across engineering, medicine, and management. Their goal is to replace expensive, risky, and often debilitating treatments with value-based care delivered efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.

Translational Research and Applied Medicine Center (TRAM)

The Translational Research and Applied Medicine Center (TRAM) was established to provide an infrastructure to rapidly translate novel genomic/proteomic, nanoscale and imaging research discoveries from the laboratory to the clinic and facilitate bench-to-bedside development of cellular therapies.

Master of Science in Translational Research and Applied Medicine (M-TRAM)

The one-year Master of Science in Translational Research and Applied Medicine (M-TRAM) trains the next generation of academic and industry leaders to successfully translate scientific discoveries and clinical applications into practical solutions that improve and save lives. Drawing on Stanford Medicine’s exceptional expertise in medicine, technology, and business, M-TRAM is the only early translational program of its kind on the West Coast and one of only a few such one-year programs offered by a top-ranked U.S. university.

Translational Applications Service Center (TASC)

Translational Applications Service Center (TASC) facility in the Department of Medicine is a fee-for-service research laboratory serving the Stanford University scientific community, as well as outside investigators. It offers a variety of analytical services, technical and scientific consulting and training, as well as pay-per-use research equipment, which allow investigators shared access to technologies that support innovative research in translational medicine.

Program for Bedside Medicine

The Stanford Medicine 25 consists of hands-on sessions and online content to teach the bedside physical exam to students, residents and faculty and promote the culture of bedside medicine.


Department of Medicine launches new DREAM division

On September 1st, 2023, the Department of Medicine launched the Division for Research and Education in Academic Medicine (DREAM). This new administrative division brings together seven department programs and centers dedicated to advancing research and education.

“This is an exciting moment for the department. I am confident that DREAM will contribute great value to the department and to each of the programs and centers within the new division,” said interim department chair Bonnie Maldonado, MD.
