Magenta Ribon (マゼンタ・ライボン Mazenta Raibon)[2] is the son of Commander Red Ribon, as well as the president of Red Pharmaceuticals, the current public face of the Red Ribbon Army. He is the one responsible for employing Dr. Hedo to create the twin Androids: Gamma 1 and Gamma 2.

He is the main antagonist of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

Appearance[]

Magenta had slicked back hair and a moustache stylized in a similar manner to that of his father. He also wore a magenta-colored suit with a black undershirt, and also wore a gold chain. He is depicted as being short in stature, similar to his late father. His upper body has also been modified mechanically in order to increase his physical power, though these modifications are hidden by his clothes.

Personality[]

Similar to his father, he is shown to be ruthless, as evidenced by how he manipulated Dr. Hedo into working for the reborn Red Ribbon Army as well as him having Pan abducted. However, he also had noticeable differences to his father, namely that he was shown to actually care for the well-being of his soldiers, and didn't seem to mind his short stature. However, this has its limits owing to his ruthless nature, as he shot at Dr. Hedo when the latter attempted to stop him from activating Cell Max. He also apparently had some degree of planning, as he implied that he outfitted himself with a cybernetic suit due to anticipating the possibility of Cell Max turning against him as insurance.

Super Hero Saga[]

Magenta makes his first appearance at Red Pharmaceuticals, where Carmine informs him of what he has learned about Dr. Hedo. Knowing that Hedo is needed in order to fulfill his goals of conquering the world, they decide to grab him upon finishing his prison sentence in three months' time.

Three months later, Magenta, along with Carmine as chauffer, greet Hedo as he leaves prison and invite him inside the car for a talk. Magenta brings up that Hedo's grandfather, Dr. Gero, once made androids for the Red Ribbon Army and asks if Hedo would like to follow in his footsteps however Hedo is uninterested as he does not seek world domination. Magenta instead tells him that they are actually trying to make a peaceful world by taking out a bunch of extra-terrestrial beings who killed Cell and appear to have a connection to Bulma and Capsule Corporation and offer him a cool one billion zeni for each android he creates. Wanting the opportunity to create the strongest androids of all time, Hedo accepts Magenta's offer, and they head to the Red Ribbon's secret base.

A few months Piccolo infiltrates a meeting at the Red Ribbon base where he overhears Hedo discussing his creations the Gamma androids and Cell Max. An impatient Magenta asks Hedo when Cell Max will be released though the scientist ensures him that the android is not yet ready and releasing him early will result in the destruction of the world. Moving on, they decide to target one of their enemies, however with Goku and Vegeta being unable to be located they set their sights on Gohan instead. Deciding that they do not need to attract public attention, they plan to kidnap Gohan's daughter Pan so to lure Gohan to their base instead.

As expected, Gohan arrives at the base looking for his daughter and the Gammas confront him. However to his dismay, the Gammas are eventually overpowered by Gohan and Piccolo, with the androids soon changing sides. Magenta rushes off underground with the intention of releasing Cell Max and Hedo chases after him knowing the danger he possesses whilst still in his incomplete state. Magenta shoots Hedo though he remains unharmed due to his modified skin. In response, Magenta removes his jacket to show off his cybernetically enhanced body though before he can act, he is stung by Hachimaru. Poisoned and on the verge of death, Magenta staggers about and in his final moments releases Cell Max before passing away.

In order to rebuild the Red Ribbon Army, Magenta gets in touch with Dr. Hedo and has him construct new Red Ribbon Androids, luring him in with claims that the "evil" Capsule Corporation has apparently employed aliens in order to take over the Earth. Despite his ambitions regarding Cell Max clashing with Hedo's preferences for the Gamma androids and superhero-loving antics, he continues to employ him, right up until Gohan and Piccolo defeat the Gammas, at which point Magenta attempts to activate Cell Max prematurely.

When Dr. Hedo confronts him, Magenta attacks him with his gun, forgetting that Dr. Hedo has enhanced skin. Magenta in turn reveals his specialized suit of armor but is poisoned by Hachimaru (who goes for his exposed neck). Rapidly dying from the venom, Magenta's last action is to slam the button to forcefully activate Cell Max, releasing the monster as he falls to the ground. Unfortunately, Magenta's actions are in vain, as Cell Max is eventually vanquished by the combined efforts of the Gammas and Gohan's Dragon Team.
