PETOUKHOV’S RULES ON SYMMETRIES IN LONG DNA-TEXTS

György Darvas

Modern science connects many basic secrets of living matter with the genetic coding system: "Life is a partnership between genes and mathematics" (Stewart, 1999). Molecular genetics has discovered that all organisms are identical in their basic molecular-genetic structures in respect of DNA- and RNA-molecules. In recognising symmetries (in their basic sense) of complex natural systems, discovery of a new wide class of symmetries and fractal-like structures in long texts of single stranded DNA by Sergey Petoukhov deserves special attention (Petoukhov, 2017). He made this discovery based on analysis of long texts of DNA of several dozen species of organisms, including the complete genomes of some organisms from the GenBank, without exceptions till now (https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/GenBank). Our journal, which is devoted to the theory of symmetries and its applications, should reflect to this important discovery of new genetic symmetries and their rules...
