Abstract

Let p be a prime and F a field, not of characteristic p. Finite nonabelian p-subgroups of the following groups of degree p with coefficients in F are studied: GL, SL, PGL, PSL, U, SU, PU, PSU. The isomorphism and conjugacy classes of p-groups are determined together with their normalisers and p-overgroups.
