The Polish Academy SAPU - Szkola Artystycznego Projektowania Ubioru (Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design) has organized two days promotion of creating clothes from recycled materials.

Jeremy Scott's latest collection for Moschino that saw trash on the runway might strike some as odd, but to the fashion industry, we're in on the joke.

This haute mess was created in an effort to raise awareness about the massive amount of waste that is ending up in our oceans. All of these garments were made from litter that I picked up off the beaches of Los Angeles & Sydney, Australia. I teamed up with Photographer Lisa Bevis, hair stylist Nina Paskowitz & makeup artist Andrew Shulman.

Suzanne Jongmans stumbled onto her project "Mind Over Matter" by blessed coincidence. Running out of fabric for a model's costume she was building, she stumbled upon some packing foam which she crafted into the shape she wanted. The rest, as they say, is history.
