Steve Reeves was born on January 21, 1926, in Glasgow, Montana. He began weightlifting at the age of 17 and quickly developed a muscular physique. In 1946, he won the Mr. America title, and in 1950, he won the Mr. Universe title. Reeves’s bodybuilding career was cut short in 1951 when he was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. After serving two years in the Army, Reeves returned to bodybuilding and won the Mr. Universe title again in 1955.
