It’s been a long time since I’ve done an update on my apartment, so here it is! Also, I thought I would keep it semi-organized and write up a blog post with links to shop, so I’ve separated my studio apartment into sections to keep it (hopefully) simple…

In the past couple years, we all spent an unprecedented amount of time in our homes. So no wonder so many people rolled up their sleeves and decided to either fix things that had been bugging them for too long to remember, or just go into full DIY renovation mode. And truth to be told, not everyone seems to have succeeded, as this previous article we published recently suggests.

This is the 10th apartment Kit has lived in (in 10 years!), and with this three-bedroom, two-bathroom rental apartment they share with a dog (and sometimes a roommate) they have put down more permanent roots and really make a space their own.

It is the "quintessential New York studio."

The sum is greater than its parts. The age-old adage is particularly suited to a recent project by a pair of architecture firms. O&M is a new rental-apartment complex in San Francisco by Kennerly Architecture & Planning and Pfau Long Architecture. Build, the developer, enlisted the two to create a nearly block-long beacon that reflects the neighborhood’s diverse character.

It’s now a screenwriter’s sanctuary.
