They’re great where you don’t want doors swinging into rooms or small spaces and getting in the way. The other way to hide an open door away is to create a recess (the thickness of the door) behind the door so it sits into the wall when open. I call this the ‘disappearing door’. You can’t have a handle on the door here, so use a roller or magnetic catch instead to keep the door shut. One thing we have discovered though is, particularly with over-sized pocket doors like ours, make sure to leave enough of a gap between the door and the walls either side.
