On September 12, 1985, George Harkness was born in Kurrumburra, eventually becoming the criminal Captain Boomerang.[1][2]

- Kurrumburra was first introduced in 1990 in the 44th issue of the Suicide Squad comics. It was known to be the birthplace of Digger Harkness.
- Kurrumburra is a real-life town, located in the South Gippsland Shire of Victoria, about 75 miles (120km) south-east of Melbourne.
- The town is dubbed as the "Heritage Centre of South Gippsland" due to the town's heritage buildings from the 1870s-1920s.
