Dr. Thomas Wayne was on Earth-153 not a physician but a prominent scientist, who had created an Anti-Kryptonite Serum to make Superboy immune to the mineral.
History
When the Boy of Steel came to ask for some of the serum, Dr. Wayne had to refuse since he had not yet tested it and feared it might harm Superboy.
Later that day, Lex Luthor, Superboy's arch-nemesis, sent a Superboy Robot to steal the serum and accidentally killed Thomas.[1]

- Thomas Wayne was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, first appearing in Detective Comics #33. However, the Earth-153 version of Thomas Wayne first appeared in World's Finest #153 by Edmond Hamilton and Curt Swan.
