Superboy (Volume 4) #5 is an issue of the series Superboy (Volume 4) with a cover date of June, 1994.
Synopsis for "Live by the Sword...Die by the Sword"
Doctor Kaua awakens on the beach (or above it) to discover that he has some sort of animetal bonded to him that obeys his thoughts.
Tana, Dubbilex, Rex, and Roxy rush Superboy to the Pearl Harbor Navy base, his health failing quickly. Dubbilex insists that they be flown directly to Cadmus Labs outside Metropolis. The Navy gets clearence for Dub and SB, but no one else. Dub fears that Superboy has the Clone Plague which has been ravishing the clones in Metropolis -- a plague for which there is currently no cure. Tana gives Superboy a kiss before he goes into the base.
Doctor Kauna tests out the animetal, coating himself in it, taking the form of a legendary Hawaiian warrior. He gets upset when he hears that the Navy will be bombing Kahoolawe Island and attacks the Pearl Harbor base. Superboy gathers his strength and (against Dub's advice) goes to fight Kaua, now called Silver Sword. Their battle spills onto Kahoolawe Island where the Navy opens up with their pulse cannons. Silver Sword realizes how sick Superboy is and wants to leave, but the Kid manages to knock him out before collapsing. Silver Sword is taken into the Navy's custody while Superboy makes it on the plane, getting worse every minute. However, when the plane arrives over Metropolis, they find it a war zone.
