Memakata is a female black cat. Her first owner was supernatural sleuth Mark Merlin.

During one of Merlin's earlier adventures, he and his assistant, Elsa, discovered a mystical cat-headed amulet which enabled Merlin to transfer his "life force" into the body of a black cat named Memakata, whom they found in the tomb of the pharaoh of the same name.[1] Memakata became Merlin's household pet and in times of danger, Merlin would "mind hop," between Memakata's body and his own.

After Merlin's death and reincarnation as Prince Ra-Man,[2] Memakata became his pet. Since Prince Ra-Man possessed the memories of Merlin, he was able to use the "cat-charm" trinket and exchange bodies with the cat as well.

In fact, for a time, Prince Ra-Man was mystically stuck in the body of Memkata, but with the help of Elsa, and a "Magic Eye" ornament, the two were able to return to their rightful bodies.[3]

Currently, Memakata lives at Windward Home with Elsa.
