Marilyn Batson is the mother of Billy Batson and Mary Batson. Her son Billy goes on to become the superhero known as Captain Marvel or Shazam, and her daughter Mary becomes Mary Marvel. Marilyn and her husband C.C. were archaeologists. They worked for Doctor Sivana, and were killed by Black Adam during an archaeological dig in Egypt. She is based on the character Jocelyn Batson in Earth-S continuity. Marilyn Batson was created by Jerry Ordway, first appearing in the graphic novel The Power of Shazam!. (1993)
