Synopsis for "Sunday on the Tarmac with George"
Oliver Queen is invited to an audience with President George H. W. Bush on Air Force One. The President admits his understanding of the events which caused Oliver to be set up as a traitor and terrorist by internal government organizations including the FBI, CIA and the DEA. The President apologizes, but suggests that strategically speaking, the event has given the United States of America a significant trade and military advantage in Panama. With that in mind, he attempts to convince Oliver that the outcome is for the best, and that he should drop his plans to come forth with the truth and reveal corruption within the government.
Oliver is enraged at the President's attempts to placate him, stating that despite all the attempts to kill him, what really bothers him is that he has been labelled a traitor, sullying his good name. He is angered that he was chosen as the dupe - chosen when he was a proud patriot. Ultimately, he tells the president to kiss his ass.
Rather than have Oliver killed or make further attempts to coerce him, the President decides to beat him to the punch with a full-disclosure. Despite all charges against him being dropped, Oliver struggles with the fact that people still see him as a traitor and a criminal. He calls several media outlets, hoping to tell his side of the story, but they all give him the brush-off.
Later, Oliver is approached by his acquaintance Marianne- a former street kid - outside of the Sherwood Florist. She reminds him of his promise that she would be able to find work there. Proprietress Dinah Lance is reluctant to hire new help, when she and Oliver are doing an alright job together, but when Oliver hints that he may not be around much longer, she reconsiders.
That night, Dinah wakes to find Oliver staring out the window. She asks him if he's leaving, and he responds that he will be leaving soon, and for an indefinite period. She begins to cry, and he holds her for hours. The next morning, Oliver leaves without knowing where he's going.
