Lyssa Drak is a member of the Sinestro Corps and the keeper of the book of Parallax, which is chained to her wrist. She maintains the horror stories and exploits of the members of the Sinestro Corps. When new recruits are brought to Qward, Lyssa oversees their entry into the Fear Lodge, and chronicles the new recruit's success or failure.

Sinestro Corps War

During the Sinestro Corps War Lyssa captured John Stewart and Guy Gardner on Qward and held them in the Archive Tower. Later when Hal Jordan came to rescue his fellow GL's she fought with him, Tomar-Tu, and Graf Toren. She was later defeated when Hal Jordan dropped a construct of a small house on her. She was captured by the Green Lantern Corps following the Sinestro Corps War.

When Vice began his rampage across the sciencells, Lyssa was the only inmate not cowering in fear. In fact, she welcomed it, cheering Vice on. Her eagerness was soon reinforced when the Qwardian rings the Guardians had been holding burst into the sciencells. Lyssa Drak's ring was among them, and she quickly took part in the battle against the Green Lanterns who tried to stop the rioting prisoners.[1]

She later felt her way into the Bowels of Oa, searching for the Book of Parallax. However, instead she found Scar's Book of the Black, and hastily attempted to claim it as her own. Unfortunately, she didn't notice Scar's presence, and was almost immediately sealed inside the book, looking out of it in horror as Scar turned the page.

War of the Green Lanterns

During the War of the Green Lanterns, Lyssa appeared on Ryut as the keeper of the Book of the Black. Stating that she is no longer a member of the Sinestro Corps because Sinestro "forgot about her" when she was trapped in the Book of the Black. She succeeded in trapping all but Hal Jordan in the book.[2]
