Synopsis for "Open Mind"

He mined my thoughts, Dinah. He knows everything I know. He used a blueprint he found in my head to build a super-weapon, and when he unleashes it on the city, he'll lay the blame squarely on me. No. This guy is mine.

The villain known as the Fugue has assembled a group of villains that plagued Batgirl since her move to Burnside and makes them work for him using his memory-altering device.

Meanwhile, Batgirl sets out to stop the Fugue, backed by Frankie, Black Canary, Spoiler and Bluebird. She knows Fugue is manipulating a bunch of her Rogues to plant his brain-altering devices across the city, taking advantage of an abandoned network of underground tunnels beneath Burnside. Then he'll influence the citizens of Burnside to assemble on a bridge; he'll blow it up and convince the rest of Gotham that Batgirl is responsible.

Batgirl's counter-plan is simple: each one of her allies will head for a different pylon placed by one of the villains as she heads for the bridge to confront the Fugue. Bluebird stops Killer Moth and Spoiler defeats the Jawbreakers team. Then both heroes head for the old Hooq office building, where they bump into Corporal Punishment. Frankie -who goes for the codename "Operator" now- sends in a Batman robot to deal with Corporal.

On the bridge, Fugue sets up and starts up the "Dreamstate Core". Hundreds of Burnside residents shamble towards the meeting point, believing they're about to see Barbara Gordon unveiling a new technology to produce abundant clean energy.

In the meantime, Black Canary battles Velvet Tiger. Suddenly Tiger puts her hands up and calls a time out. She has remembered something important.

Batgirl reaches the bridge and pounces on Fugue. After kicking him she points out the stupidity of gloating over your plans, but Fugue replies he left something out during his villain-bragging. He pulls a remote out and presses the switch. A building blows up. The crowds blame Batgirl and turn on her.

Batgirl is trying to calm the mob down when Canary calls in. Velvet Tiger has confessed Fugue is at the Gotham Bank. Batgirl cannot believe after all this he still attempts pull off another stupid bank heist. She heads over there. Upon meeting her, Fugue claims he is after revenge, and he'll ruin her life, kill her, expose her secrets and worse. Batgirl realizes his gateway into her head is her neural implant; as long as she wears it, he'll be able to rewrite her memory. She cuts it off and collapses right away. However she can still -barely- move her legs and lunges at Fugue. Fugue whips out a gun and shots at her chest.

Fugue smiles and phones someone to tell his job is done and he's killed Batgirl. Then he turns around and sees Batgirl standing up behind him. She wanted to give him a taste of his own device, so she implanted a false memory in his head and scrubbed everything about her and her friends out of his mind.

Captured and powereless, Fugue is blasted at the GCPD via a pneumatic tube. Batgirl collapses again and is taken back home by a back-bot controlled by Frankie.

Six weeks later, Barbara's new neural implant is running smoothly, her new company is getting off to a good start, and she has her own mini-Batcave in the basement.
