In his old age, Batman delegated his duty of protecting Gotham City to the robotic Bat-Knights.

History

When Batman allied with Lex Luthor's Mankind Liberation Front, Luthor provided for mass production of Batman's Bat-Knights in their war against the Justice League. However, Batman's alliance was a ruse to uncover the MLF's plot and turned on them, in which he had Ted Kord activated the mass-produced Bat-Knights to apprehending Luthor.[1] Following the aftermath of the Gulag bombing, the Bat-Knights were painted white and used as air filtration units when Wayne Manor was turned into a hospital/hospice for the Gulag survivors.[2]

Notes

  • According to supplement in Kingdom Come / Revelations there are two classes of robots: the Bat-Knight (long-legged, walking types) and Bat-Monitors (bat-like flyers), both of which were intended to look like Batman's classic Batmobiles come to life.
