Amazing initiative. Costin hitting the spot with his dark ambientations and his decadent/ deconstructed black metal in ruins. Love the vibe al around. Masterpice!
Favorite track: Phanthasma And The Midnight Stalker.
Lyrics by Costin Chioreanu:
The magma of words
dresses the perception in horror
It's idolizing measures,
it's calling clouds to cement the hallow
A flood of silence...
As silence was before the circle
Throwing the unseen before
Before the first word
Before the first drop
When absence was absolute
To understand the meaning
of a wordless speech
The raindrop shall fall deeper
through the walls of this tomb hall
As the exit will raise
on the bottom of last circle
Lyrics by David Tibet:
BITER LIKE THE MOON
SHORN FIELDS FROM WHIRLWINDS
DRANK LIKE THE SON
MOLTEN GRIEVED SUNS
FORGED OF FLOWERS AND GARDENS
AND CAROUSELS AND GRAVES
PITCHED BLACK LIKE THAT BITE
FROM LUNAR MERCURY MOUTH
THE FINGER AND HAND AND THE BLARE
OF THE BAND AND THE WAVES CALLING DOWN
ON THE BEACHES OF MYRRH
BRIGHT MISSED IN THE PASSING MACHINES
DREAMS OF WATER TOWERS, SHARP GARDENS
BLEAK JADE DUNGEONS AND SLEEK GROTTOES
THE CLIPPING SWORD WOUND
MASTER OF DEBRIS PATCHED UNDER CHRIST
BLOWN AWAY BY THE FIRES YOU SPAT AT TEETHTIME
THERE COMES A TIME A TIME A TIME
WHEN THE BLIND THE BLIND
UNWEAVE THEIR STATUES AND UNCROSS
THE THRONES THEY HAVE BUILT IN STRAW
POOR MOUTH, POOR SLASH, POOR MARKS
LEFT BEHIND BY BUTTERFLIES
THE CAMPAIGN IS NOW OVER.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE:
The Romanian artist, Costin Chioreanu, is to release a collection of music, entitled "The Quest For A Morning Star", to raise funds for victims of the recent tragedy at Club Collectiv, in Bucharest.
Chioreanu is well known and highly respected for his graphic works for At The Gates, Arch Enemy, Napalm Death, Arcturus, Darkthrone, Mayhem, Ulver and many others. A musician himself, he has collaborated with various artists to create "soundtracks" to accompany his exhibitions in the past. These soundtracks are to be made available via BandCamp, with all proceeds to be donated to help with medical bills and funeral expenses of those who have been affected by the fire.
On October 30, local band, Goodbye to Gravity were celebrating the release of their second album at the nightclub when the tragedy occurred. The fire has already claimed the lives of 46 victims, but that number is rising daily, with more than one hundred further people in hospital, many in critical conditions. In a tight knit rock/metal community, the shockwaves have been massive, as musicians, fans, photographers, engineers, security have all been directly affected.
Chioreanu commented:
"Is very hard for me to find the words to convey the devastating effect of this, so I'll try to just stick to the facts. For our small community of music fans, this has been beyond terrible - many of us here have been friends for many years, and those newer to the scene, we'd still have recognised. The loss and impact is almost too big to comprehend at the moment.
"I want to thank all the great musicians who have taken part in these soundtracks - for their immediate response and support in making this compilation possible and available for fundraising. The love and support that's out there in the international metal scene is unbelievable. I want to thank everybody who has helped out, from the bottom of my heart."
Regarding the original purpose of the music, Chioreanu explains: "I started to create this music in 2011, for a personal project, not directly related to metal music/artwork. When working on this type of project, I like to include the audible space as well as the visual in my work. So, all this music is extremely personal to me, and many of these soundtracks have never been released before. The intimacy of the works makes it feel quite natural for them to be released for a humanitarian purpose like this. The Campaign will end on November 27th"

This is the album that started it all and matters the most.
Growing up in the Armenian Orthodox Church, the liturgical passages were nostalgic.
Then, the blast beats, distorted guitars and black metal screams work synergistically with the choir, creating something unique and special that the black metal scene hasn't heard before.
Highly recommended! Sid

Swirling guitars, furious drums, vocals that at the same time howl from infinite distance and are right up in your head; everything put into dissonant form with the help of unconventional songwriting. This album is my personal key to the icelanding black metal madness that I've ignored for way too long! Lukas Kaufmann
