Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Saint Ursula's, 37 Watergate Street Although there were 16th century almshouses in Chester dedicated to St Ursula they were not at this location, so I don't know why this stone shop front has her name carved into it. The building is on the south side of Watergate Street, almost opposite Crook Street. The English Heritage website, Images of England, records that the building is Grade 1 listed mainly for its undercroft, which is probably c1180-c1280.
