Rink Linker that connects the solid resin to the peptide being built
Solid resin for peptide synthesis
The first amino acid (side group R1) conjugated to an Fmoc group that protects the amino end.
Acid catalyzed (Trifluoroacetic acid) decoupling of the finished peptide and the linker. The linker ends up with and -OH group, instead of the initial -NH2.
Basic conditions required in order to keep -NH2 ,not -NH3+
Mechanism of acid-catalyzed uncoupling.
