English: Monreal is a village with 800 inhabitants in the Vordereifel in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. On the hill above Monreal are the 13th century ruins of the Löwenburg and Philippsburg. The village is a tourist attraction because of its traditional half-timbered houses, pottery and Trinity Church. The original name "Cunisberch" (Königsberg) was Frenchified to Monreal.
Monreal is een dorp met ca. 800 inwoners in de Vordereifel in de Duitse deelstaat Rijnland-Palts. Boven Monreal liggen de ruïnes van de Löwenburg en de Philippsburg uit de 13de eeuw. Het dorp geldt als toeristische trekpleister vanwege de authentieke vakwerkhuizen, pottenbakkerijen en de Drievuldigheidskerk. De oorspronkelijke naam „Cunisberch“ (Königsberg) werd verfranst tot Monreal. Monreal ist eine Ortsgemeinde im Vordereifel im Land Rheinland-Pfalz. Oberhalb des Ortes liegen die Ruinen der Löwen- und Philippsburg aus dem 13. Jahrhunderts. Von nun an benutzte man auch den französischen Namen „Monroial“ statt „Cunisberch“ (Königsberg). |
