Description

I parked the truck along the road south of the Kelso Dunes in Mojave National Preserve and walked north a little more than a mile (2 km). About halfway there, I was walking on sand.

The sky was mostly cloudy, imparting some interesting shadows on the sand. I stayed until sunset. The wind picked up considerably, and a rain storm appeared in the distance. The clouds were almost black. Fortunately, the storm was moving away and I made it back to the truck without getting wet.
