Description
Deutsch: Wappen des ehemaligen Amtes Unna-Kamen, zwischen 1966 und 1969 aufgegangen in die Städte und Gemeinden: Bergkamen, Fröndenberg, Kamen, Holzwickede und Unna: „Gespalten in Gold (Gelb) und Blau; vorn ein in drei Reihen je sechsfach geteilter in Rot und Silber (Weiß) gebogener, geschachter Balken und hinten ein silberner (weißer) gebogener Balken, belegt mit drei roten Pfählen.“ Das Wappen wurde 1935 verliehen. Der Schachbalken erinnert an die frühere Zugehörigkeit zur Grafschaft Mark und der silberne Balken belegt mit drei roten Pfählen stammt aus dem Wappen der Herren von der Recke, welche über zweihundert Jahre großen Einfluss in der Grafschaft Mark hatten.
English: „Per pale Or a bended fess chequy gules and Argent and azure a bended fess Argent charged with three pales gules.“ The arms were granted in 1935 and combine the arms of the Counts of the Mark (checquered bar) and those of the family von der Recke. The Lords of von der Recke ruled the districts of Unna and Kamen more than 200 years as governors in the County of Mark.
