English: Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Norris, a platoon sergeant with Company B, 2nd Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division, and Sgt. Danielle Taylor, a flight engineer with B Co., guide Spc. Jalil Barnett, a forklift operator with Company Delta, to pick up an M1A2 Abrams tank engine to load into a B Co. CH-47 Chinook helicopter at Biggs Army Airfield, Fort Bliss, Texas, May 4, 2015. The Black Knights Company flew the 2-ton engine to the field as part of its support of the Network Integration Evaluation 15.2 exercise. This was the first time a 1st Armored Division Chinook transported an Abrams engine via an internal load at Fort Bliss. “We want to demonstrate how the CH-47 can be part of the logistics train for heavy payloads for 1st Armored Division,” said Capt. Jake Rykken, B Co. commander. (U.S. Army photo by Capt. W. Scott Walters, Combat Aviation Brigade Public Affairs, 1st Armored Division) |
