Summary
[edit]DescriptionA-4B Skyhawk of VA-113 on USS Bennington (CVS-20) in 1965.jpg | A U.S. Navy Douglas A-4B Skyhawk (BuNo 144874) from Attack Squadron 113 (VA-113) "Stingers" Det.Q aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bennington (CVS-20). VA-113 Det.Q was assigned to Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 59 (CVSG-59) aboard the Bennington for a deployment to the Western Pacific and Vietnam from 22 March to 7 October 1965. Note that the detachment kept the tail code "NH" of its parent Attack Carrier Air Wing 11 (CVW-11) and did not adopt the "NT" tail code of CVSG-59. Also not the unusual use of Roman modex numbers. |
