English: The Baikonur Cosmodrome ( Tyuratam ), and the City of Baikonur — in Kyzylorda Province, southern Kazakhstan.
- The cosmodrome is the world's oldest and largest working space launch facility, originally built by the Soviet Union in 1955.
- The facility is now leased and operated by the Russian Federation.
- The city is located on the Syr Darya river, and is a closed city in Kazakhstan.
