The pictures was nominated by Bill william compton because of no OTRS permission (see Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Mb-world). He has asked me to provide a confirmation mail. I’ve sent a confirmation mail 27 March 2013, but I had no answer. I asked Bill william compton about the confirmation on his talk page 1 April 2013 and 9 April (see User talk:Bill william compton) but I had no answer. The pictures was deleted with just a notation of "Deleted: To be restored upon reciept of OTRS permission", so I'm not sure if the deleting admin checked OTRS. I just re-sent the confirmation mail at permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, check please! --Mb-world (talk) 12:46, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I found ticket:2013041510007531 & ticket:2013041710007591 from Mikhail V****yev! You sent an email (with correct agreement) from miscellaneous mail server! I read this section, if Your images used in "mb-world.ru" You should sending this agreement from this website's Mail server! (for example:info@mb-world.ru). For other images: At first, You can upload images in commons and use {{OTRS pending}}. After uploading, You'll send an email to OTRS for confirming! --MehdiTalk 06:46, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mehdi,I've uploaded new pictures and realised all rules)) Please check my confirmation mail from "mb-world.ru" mail server. But I have a problem with my last pictures which was deleted, I can't uploading pictures because it had been deleted: "There was another file already on the site with the same content, but it was deleted". What I have to do? Kind regards --Mb-world (talk) 13:52, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This site appears to include works by several photographers: how can the ones to which you hold copyright be distinguished? --Rrburke (talk) 14:48, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I sent an email for User:Putnik for checking this section.--MehdiTalk 15:28, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OTRS ticket is closed and no progress since 19 April 2013, so this issue seems to be resolved for the scope of this page. --Krd 12:40, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Checkmark This section is resolved and can be archived. If you disagree, replace this template with your comment. --Krd 12:40, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

We have 334 files in Category:Files from News Øresund Flickr stream whose file descriptions, Flickr descriptions and metadata all appear to prohibit derivative works: "Bilden får ej manipuleras"/"Photo manipulation is not allowed"). It would appear that News Øresund has universally chosen the wrong license, instead intending to use {{Cc-by-nd-2.0}}, which is not accepted on Commons. Does the OTRS ticket do anything to address this problem? LX (talk, contribs) 19:52, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, after an explanation by an OTRS colleague about this issue, they responded: "The CC-By-2.0 license is correct for our photos." - Jcb (talk) 20:32, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, so then we should probably:
  • Create a custom licensing tag explaining that, contrary to the description on Flickr, manipulation is allowed.
  • Have a bot scrub the EXIF, add the tag and remove the contradictory statements from the file descriptions.

ticket:2011101310013458 or at least {{WikiAfrica/Doualart}} is used on over 3k files, however the text of OTRS certifies that "project descriptions, biographies, description of artworks" are CC but "images belong to the artists and they are not in CC BY-SA unless differently stated in the website". It seems to me that since file descriptions are short and not a literary works they are not copyrightable and the OTRS template is not covering anything relevant to individual images. As such it, should be removed since it gives impression that it certifies that the images are properly licensed. Opinions? --Jarekt (talk) 02:54, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Could somebody familiar with {{PD-US-no notice}} take a look at ticket 2013052810000039? Jcb (talk) 12:18, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dutch help

I recently received four images by email from a rep of Category:Florentijn Hofman. After I uploaded them I noticed there are many more that may violate COM:FOP for countries they are taken in. This sculptor may be willing to provide a 'blanket' OTRS for photographs of some or all of his works. We would still need the licenses from photographers but there are many on Flickr with CC-by. I am not sure he fully understands the copyright issues involved and someone who speaks Dutch may be able to assist. He may be our first real entry in my fledgling User:Canoe1967/Sculptors. His contact details are on the website in the four images I uploaded http://www.florentijnhofman.nl/ The English email I received was very good and prompt but Dutch may be best. If someone wishes to contact him in that language we can probably host images of more of his works and prevent deletion of existing ones.--Canoe1967 (talk) 16:59, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've send an email to the Dutch OTRS mailing list. Maybe someone is willing to help. Trijnsteltalk 09:13, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I see the 4 images I uploaded still don't have ticket numbers but hopefully the sculptor is considering licensing those at least.--Canoe1967 (talk) 13:55, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Two tickets

Can some OTRS volunteer please confirm if ticket:2013061810009691 is a valid one for File:Рыбалка.jpg and File:Первомайский митинг ЛДПР.jpg as both files are by a new uploader whose account was created today on 20 June itself?

Also, is it possible to check if there were any emails received regarding File:100 with newly-weds in Montreal.jpg. Please note in this image, the claimed author/copyright holder of the work "Atul Gurtu" is in the pic himself. I also cannot see any metadata associated with the file. Thanks in advance. Rahul Bott (talk) 08:20, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The answers to your questions:
1) Looks OK. The uploader mentioned the files via their external links ([1], [2]) and the OTRS volunteer instructed him to post the permissions template on the uploads.
2) I've found OTRS ticket:2013062110001594 for File:100 with newly-weds in Montreal.jpg and hi:File:Atul Gurtu.png, though it's not fully processed yet.
Hope this helps. With regards, Trijnsteltalk 08:49, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Trijnstel, thanks for your reply. I think the first case is over now. As for second one, since you mentioned hi:File:Atul Gurtu.png, I noticed that the file has been licensed for use on Wikipedia only. As such, I am more curious if the OTRS permissions are also similar. Is it possible to disclose here what the email says? Moreover at its present state, the hi.wiki file becomes an invalid fair-use file being one with a restricted, WMF-incompatible license and that of a living person. Isn't it so? Rahul Bott (talk) 13:09, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In the ticket Atul Gurtu claims to be the copyright holder and he gives permission to use the two files under the CC-BY-SA-3.0 (+GFDL) license.
I guess you're right about the fair use file. See en:WP:FAIRUSE for the full guideline on the English Wikipedia. Maybe it's helpful. Trijnsteltalk 12:18, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
But is that not a problem as Atul Gurtu himself is in the pic (rightmost gentleman)? Rahul Bott (talk) 15:39, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is the OTRS template in the description of this image valid? I noticed that it seems to have been added by the uploader, not by an OTRS member. The image description, source etc. seem to contradict at least in part those of the image's other version linked from there. Thanks. --Rosenzweig τ 23:20, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The ticket number seems to be ticket:2008031210021854. --Rosenzweig τ 23:22, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have access to that ticket, so it's probably in an info- queue (info-ru maybe). Trijnsteltalk 10:47, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Can such tickets be valid permissions? --Rosenzweig τ 12:04, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, they can. Especially older tickets can be. So we need a Russian OTRS volunteer I guess. Trijnsteltalk 12:06, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes those descriptions and licenses were not right. Ticket:2008031210021854 just says that writer Igor Bondarenko authorizes Анна Астахова to release samples of his printed material (like book covers) and photos he took, under cc-by-sa-2.5 license. Unfortunately that should not be applied to any images in Category:Photographs from Igor Bondarenko archive since those were photographs scanned from Igor Bondarenko books (source is "Igor Bondarenko archive"), but not taken by him in 1988 as is currently claimed. Some of those images (German ones) might be {{Anonymous-EU}}. --Jarekt (talk) 14:38, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am also sure that File:CIC RO L Schulze Boysen detail.jpg was not taken by US Army. --Jarekt (talk) 14:40, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Image request ridiculousness

The subject in the image File:Aldous Tyler.jpg has clearly stated via e-mail that the picture was taken as a "work for hire" with all copyrights transferred to him. He agrees to release it under Creative Commons Share-Alike 3.0. Why is this not sufficient? Why is he now receiving demands to "send us a scan of the copyright transfer document"? --William S. Saturn (talk) 19:04, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please wait... your agent is user:jcb! And ur ticket number is ticket:2013063010003735. Please be patient ;) --MehdiTalk 19:50, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
An apology may be in order as well. If we had similar with an singer or minor notable I could understand. Questioning a US presidential candidate though?--Canoe1967 (talk) 20:13, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You people just keep making it more difficult to add photos. When was the policy changed demanding documents when the copyright owner clearly states that copyright was transferred to him? This is very aggravating. --William S. Saturn (talk) 18:52, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Snowden pic edit war

can somone check that Snowden pic 4 wihch file we have a ticket? thx--Sanandros (talk) 21:45, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I emailed her a link to a deleted version for view and approval. The one she viewed in my link was the high resolution cropped version.--Canoe1967 (talk) 21:48, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As an OTRS agent, I understand that the permission we have is for File:Edward Snowden.jpg as of July 6th 22.57 CEST (not so sure about the timezone displayed in OTRS). --PierreSelim (talk) 11:13, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone please check if ticket:2012041010004027 covers all uploads by User:MaxSpeed and if yes add the appropriate template to their two recent uploads? Thanks, --El Grafo (talk) 12:26, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

User adding "PermissionOTRS" to their own uploads

Hi, User:Tambo is adding {{PermissionOTRS}} to his/her own uploads. I tried to explain to him/her that the template is intended to be used by OTRS members only, but s/he is en-0 and I am hu-0, so I had to use google translation and I really don't know how much of my message was left after that …

However, it would be nice if someone could make sure that everything's alright with those permissions/templates. Thanks, --El Grafo (talk) 14:21, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can see, the following files are affected:
--El Grafo (talk) 14:27, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you're on your way, please don't miss User:Krdbot/af69 for little more of this kind to be checked. --Krd 14:30, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I see: You are well organized. Sorry for the interruption, I'll get my jetpack ;-) --El Grafo (talk) 14:42, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
El Grafo, your query is well-justified, and my comment wasn't towards yours but to the listening OTRS agents, as a remark that there is some more work to be done. I'm afraid there could be not enough manpower for the job, though. --Krd 15:35, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Match file to ticket

Ticket#2013031910008909 goes with File:Osian Ellis.jpg. I am trying to help w:User talk:HCNicholls over at en:wp. There is another file over there, w:File:David Griffiths self portrait.jpg, that may be involved with the same ticket. An email to Mr. Griffiths may get the second one licensed better and moved to commons.--Canoe1967 (talk) 16:47, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Possible "work for hire" and thus OTRS not valid?

The file File:Chuck Norris, The Delta Force 1986.jpg has an OTRS ticket which is the basic Israeli translation of the blanket OTRS permission form for the photographer Yoni S.Hamenahem, but according to all evididence he was a studio employee (the official stills photographer for the film) thus any images he produced on set would of been property of the studio as a work for hire (see Israeli copyright law section 34). The OTRS (ticket) does not indicate any permission from the studio for copyright release or address these concerns... should it (and any other similar images from this photographer) be deleted? — raeky (talk | edits) 22:23, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
