Site in Narsaq where remains have been found from the beginning of Norse settlement in Greenland

Summary

Description
English: The photograph shows a site near the shore in Narsaq, Greenland in the autumn of 2018. This is an archaeological site where Norse artifacts were discovered in 1953, including the Narsaq stick with a Viking Age runic inscription. Subsequent excavations revealed the remains of a farm from the beginning of the Norse settlement in Greenland. A sign visible in the photograph gives information on the archaeological discoveries. It notes: "To provide an impression of the hall now completely removed by the archaeological excavation turfs have been set on top of the original walls."
