File:STOMP screenshot.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Welcome, Dear Filemover!
Hi Robertsky, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:
- Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
- Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
- Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.

Dates need to be fixed (Wiki Loves Living Heritage)
Done Hi, thank you for your hardwork to keep us community involved in the Living Heritage campaign. Would you look into dates for Jury selection, or I read: dates are tagged backword, or 16 July to 4 July. Do you mean 16 JUNE to 4 July?
- Translations:Commons:Wiki Loves Living Heritage in Singapore/46/en.
Cheers, Omotecho (talk) 12:32, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
--- @Omotecho thanks for the spot. I have updated the text. to 16 July to 4 August. Robertsky (talk) 14:03, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
Wow, you are super fast! Thank you so much. Allow me marked as done to this thread. Cheers, --Omotecho (talk) 14:27, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Omotecho, haha, the competition is opening up in 2 days' time, hence the haste. I have created a Notes for translators page. Hopefully, it will be of use to you. Robertsky (talk) 15:57, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
Wikimania recordings
Thanks for helping upload Wikimania recordings - I noticed File:Wikimania 2023 - Structured Data Across Wikimedia Successes and Learnings.webm did not have audio. Would you be able to re-encode? Thanks :) Jon Kolbert (talk) 14:10, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Jon Kolbert that's strange. I will have it reencoded. Robertsky (talk) 17:00, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Jon Kolbert I have uploaded the re-encoded version. Thanks for pinging me. :) Robertsky (talk) 01:40, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
Dagbani Spell4Wiki audio files with Wrong ISO code renaming request
Hi Robertsky, These files are recorded using Spell4Wiki, Spell4Wiki recording default language is Tamil (ta). For Other languages, we should choose language in Spell4Wiki App. The Users mistakenly recorded in default language (Tamil), So these filenames are appearing like "Ta-that word.ogg
". But these all are not Tamil language, These all are Dagbani language (dag) confirmed by Dnshitobu. Please kindly do file renaming for these files, rename as for Example: Ta-example.ogg --> Dag-example.ogg List of files are listed in this spreadsheet. Thank you Sriveenkat (talk) 14:51, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- @SriveenkatThank you for the effort. I want to believe there are more and maybe if there is a category of Ta-.ogg files, we could check out for more. Dnshitobu (talk) 17:54, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Dnshitobu/@Sriveenkat: I will work on the files in these couple of days. Do let me know if it is possible to add these files to a specific category for easier processing. Robertsky (talk) 03:34, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- Ok I will do it Sriveenkat (talk) 03:46, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Sriveenkat, there seems to be a bunch of duplicates. see User:Robertsky/sandbox. Robertsky (talk) 15:33, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Sriveenkat @Robertsky The reason could be that after they recorded it with a wrong language code, they might have been prompted or figured it out and corrected tem by recording the duplicates with the right ones. What is the next step? I would suggest deletion of those duplicated files Dnshitobu (talk) 17:47, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- For now, we can consider moving to "Dag-X (2).ogg". Though duplicated, many are by different editors. After you have figured out which one is truly duplicated, i.e. same editors uploading the same audio files, you can tag the files to be deleted with {{Duplicate}} and an admin will evaluate and delete accordingly. Source of derivative work is not properly indicated: File:RJTT Layout Runway 34R Collision.svg
This file may be deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:RJTT Layout Runway 34R Collision.svg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

- @Denniss was this issued in error? Robertsky (talk) 18:58, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- No, the original uploader failed to properly source the file and as you uploaded another version you were also informed about the tagging. I did find the original source some time later and made the required changes. Denniss (talk) 20:55, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Denniss ah.. I see. thanks for catching up on the work here. I was getting sleepy from the night (and recovering still from a stomach flu (I think, gotta see a doc when the day breaks) to continue on here. Robertsky (talk) 21:01, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

- @Aurelio Sandoval no worries. i didn't do it because that is shown on Aduitor banner in desktop. Didn't occur to me that the mobile view does not have the banner. Robertsky (talk) 04:04, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

Renaming channel logos
Hi, thanks for accepting my request for renaming the files for polish tv channel logos. Could you explain why did you add "Telewizja Polska:" to some file names? AshOregano (talk) 16:30, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
- @AshOregano, TVP is an acronym, which makes it ambiguous. Adding Telewizja Polska makes it less ambiguous and fulfils COM:FNC#2. Robertsky (talk) 17:42, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks. Still a bit new to Commons :p AshOregano (talk) 18:21, 25 August 2024 (UTC)

Renaming
Hi Robertsky, for this renaming please have a look at the discussion. Regards Dbebaw (talk) 06:17, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
- Now I saw [1]. These are all the old Katharevousa-writings, also Traianopolis vs. Traianopoli. --Dbebaw (talk) 07:09, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Dbebaw It was moved upon request from @Oirattas. It would be best to involve them in the discussion. Robertsky (talk) 02:41, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- that being said, if there's no response from Oirattas, I will revert the move accordingly taking account into your objection. Robertsky (talk) 02:43, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- I renamed the file names and category to the Katharevousa spelling to harmonize them. Also the Katharevousa names are the original names of Alexandroupolis and Traianoupolis, and other Greek settlements in general, and Katharevousa names of Greek settlements are the most widely used internationally, as well as the most widely used across Wikipedia in other languages, including for these two towns. Oirattas (talk) 01:38, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- Aja, for example:
- Greek Ministry of Interior
- Greek Travel Pages
- Alexandroupoli
- Traianoupoli
- Municipality of Alexandroupoli Visit Alexandroupoli
- --Dbebaw (talk) 08:27, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- In English transliterations, the historic Katharevousa names are ovewhelmingly used for Greek place names, if they don't have English-language versions. This is also the case for most other languages, if they don't have translations of Greek place names in their own languages. Katharevousa names are overwhelmingly used in English Wikipedia and in Wikimedia Commons. Oirattas (talk) 09:35, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- Both writing forms are known, but the Katharevousa one was the official language until 1976 [!]. Today – 2024 – relevant official sites like the Greek Ministry of the Interior uses mostly the Modern Greek Alexandroupoli. Also you can find the modern writing Alexandroupoli in use by the European Union. --Dbebaw (talk) 13:53, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
