Italiano: Lo stemma è riprodotto su atti ufficiali del Comune e sulla bandiera del Borgo, 1944.
Object history
Italiano: Stabio deriva dal latino "stabulum" (scuderia, stalla); una lapide, trovata nelle vicinanze (Clivio), indica che Stabio era una stazione della cavalleria romana a guardia della frontiera retica e un importante via di communicazione, raffigurata nello stemma dalla banda. Il castello che appare nell'arma vuol ricordare quello esistente ancora nel 1275, sulla collina ove, oggi, sorge la cappella di S. Rocco.
