Description
Deutsch: Flagge der Stadt Velen: „Die Farben des Wappens wiederholen sich in der Farbgebung der Hissflagge.“ Diese ungenaue Formulierung entstammt dem Amtsblatt; tatsächlich wird folgende Flagge geführt: „Die Flagge ist blau und gelb in zwei Bahnen quergestreift und zeigt in der Mitte das Wappen.“ Der Rat der Stadt Velen hat in seiner Sitzung am 17.12.2012 die Einführung einer neuen Hissflagge unter Verwendung des bisherigen Stadtwappens sowie der bereits im Banner der Stadt Velen geführten Farben beschlossen. Mit Schreiben vom 28.12.2012 hat die Kommunalaufsicht gemäß § 14 Abs. 3 GO NRW die Einführung der Hissflagge genehmigt, was hiermit ortsüblich bekannt gemacht wird.
