English: Bridge Renewal: At the start of 1980 the North London Line bridge at West Hampstead was renewed in preparation for the overhead electrification of the Midland mainline from St.Pancras. The bridge piers have been extended in preparation for the new bridge and the pedestrian bridge carrying the footpath between Finchley Road and West End Lane has been removed. This photo was taken from the temporary footpath bridge connecting to Blackburn Road. 37115 heads an eastbound oil train across the old North London Line bridge. The buildings on the left are on West End Lane. |
