Dörrie receives top honours at Bavarian Film Awards
Doris Dörrie continues her winning streak. Firstly, it has been confirmed that Cherry Blossoms will screen in competition at Berlin (see news).
Secondly, the film – which tells the story of a widower’s trip to Japan to fulfil his late wife’s dream – has just won the Pierrot for Best Film at the 29th Bavarian Film Awards. The lead actor, Elmar Wepper, also received the Best Actor Pierrot.
Cherry Blossoms will be released in German theatres on March 6.
