PATERSON
by Jim Jarmusch
synopsis
Every morning, shortly after six, Paterson gets up, packs his grey metal lunchbox and begins his shift as a bus driver. His daily life is as monotonous as the route taken by bus number 23, which he drives through the eponymous town of Paterson day in day out. After work, he returns home to his devoted wife Laura, takes his obstinate bulldog Marvin for a walk and drinks exactly one beer in the pub. There is no room for drama in Paterson’s life wherefore nobody would ever have guessed that within him there lies a poet: during his breaks, Paterson would pick up pen and paper to pierce the drone of everyday life with fluent verse.
